Barclays Premier account switch promotion

Hi,
I signed up for the Barclays premier account through the app, opened the account and initiated the account switch on Friday evening. Shortly, my account was locked out. I could not sign up for the 25,000 Avios sign up bonus. They resolved it on Sunday morning, I signed up for the Avios Rewards on Sunday morning. Since I signed up for Avios rewards after I initiated the switch, will it invalidate by sign up bonus ?

Any thoughts ?
Also, I have a mortgage with Barclays currently paid from my another account, for getting the 750 Avios bonus monthly, do I need to change the direct debit or will it happen automatically as my online profiles have merged ?

@jkcool why was your account locked out? If you submit a complaint via the in-app chat this should yield a positive result of either some cash or (presumably preferably) recognition of the product you signed up for. If they don’t, you could take it to the FOS

You’ll be fine as long as you are eligible and you jump through all the necessary hoops by the specified date. If you do you should get both the £175 and the 25k avios.

@executiveclubber It was the dreaded 00002 error. I went back and forth with social media chat for a while. Sunday morning they called me and took 30 mins on phone to fix it. Glad it was fixed. I guess my account was locked out because I have Avios credit card and Mortgage account with them and as soon as my account was opened, some background process was trying to merge my accounts to a single profile.

Should I still complaint via the message function on the app ?

@BJ Thank you, that was reassuring. Do you know anything about the bonus for having mortgage with them ?

It’s just the way bank switches for benefits usually work. I’d avoid unnecessary complaints. Reference to other accounts normally refer to other bank accounts not to mortgages? Loans, cards etc. Just jump through the becessay joops, wait the specified period for bonus and if it hasn’t appeared by then that is when you should raise questions.

The bonus for a mortgage is 700 Avios month on top of the 1500.

Update from me:
I have had my £175 confirmed as being eligible and going to be added within 10 days by text message from Barclays (but it hasn’t hit the account yet).
The 25,000 Premier Avios account bonus is showing as pending to be transferred in my account.

All – At what point in the switching process do you get a confirmation that you’re going to receive the £175? Do you have to seek the confirmation yourself?
I requested for the switch last week.. most of the direct debits etc. have been transferred already. Complete switch will happen by 28th.

I got a text a few days after the switch had completed that I was eligible and the money would be added within 10 days. It appeared just under a week later.
