In feb I would have paid 12 months worth of avios membership on my premier account
I believe I read somewhere that you can chose to either have an upgrade voucher or avios points , any idea how many points will be offered , I’ve not been contacted with a choice

I don’t believe they have yet specified what the Avios alternative might be, nor if/when it will actusllly happen, although there was a suggestion that it might be 7,000 Avios…
7k is that it lol , I hope it’s more
Problem is the voucher has proved to be not as great as it was implied to be ( particularly wrt European/domestic bookings) and so they don’t need to offer so much to buy it back off you…
I’ve just gone back to check the wording of the email Barclays sent to introduce this change back in November, and it said they’d offer the choice of voucher or bonus Avios from “early next year”… so who knows when it’ll land!
I’m about £100 away from my third voucher. All still sitting in my BAEC account. Finding the WAY less useful than the companion vouchers but I’ve still got a year left on my 2 year Amex amnesty period!
I’m surprised no one has raised an official complaint with Barclays about the defects with the voucher for short haul and with connections. The behaviour of the voucher is not in line with the T&Cs.
Some people did when it first became apparent (me included), but they’ve been completely ignored. Barclay’s attitude (like BA’s) is that if you’re not happy with it, you are free to take your custom elsewhere! Which makes people like me determined to get the most out of it …
Still not heard anything from Barclays about my choice of reward for being a customer for 1 year (that’s 12 months avois fees paid) I would rather have avios than a voucher which is hard to use

While I am aware that some people aren’t happy with the voucher and/or its operation, which specific T&Cs have been breached?

think positively.. £144 for 18k avios plus 7k bonus (or more) / upgrade voucher.. not bad
£144 for £165 worth of Nectar points. Hardly the king’s ransom but might be enough to stop me immediately swapping back to Blue Rewards when this 100k points materialises.

I don’t have them to hand, but I screenshotted them when I took out my new Barclays product. The T&Cs mention offering prices at a range of Avios and money, which, short haul, it doesn’t.
Also, even if the terms were silent on this point, it’s not doing what it says on the tin if a consumer isn’t able to upgrade using the same balance of points and money as they are without the voucher. BA seem to think they are free to reprice things to make the voucher worthless. I can’t imagine that’s a fair term.
The only reason I’ve not lodged a complaint myself is I’ve not booked a flight and tried to use the voucher and been frustrated. You can’t complain ‘in theory’.
I looked at the original terms I saved when the cards were launched – Barclays and BA ones and can’t see that reference which is why I asked in case there was another set of terms which is not impossible; Barclays has various versions of its 100k terns.
The reference there is to taxes in the documents I have is quite oblique and the issue is the same as on the GUF vouchers so may make any unfairness argument a bit harder and in any event the detriment seems fairly small.
