Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Accor Live Limitless Belgrade Mama Shelter – any experience?

  • 9 posts

Hello – has anyone had any experience with the Belgrade Mama Shelter? Would it be suitable for staying with an infant?
My go to for Belgrade is usually the Hilton, but they’re charging mortgageable rates, whilst the Mama Shelter has a 2 bedroom suite for not bad money. Any experience/advice would be much appreciated!

Don’t stay there. It’s very loud all day long and evening and it’s part of a shopping centre without too many shops. The restaurant is nice for lunch.

Hyatt Regency (old rooms), but you can get executive suite for 10k points + flexible rate (usually low rates). Indigo is in city centre (smallish rooms) and there’s also Crowne Plaza all quite reasonable. St Regis is opening later in the year and has very reasonable points rates.

Thanks a lot, Meta – that (noise from the ‘atmosphere’) was precisely what I was concerned about. Thank you for the alternative suggestions, as well.
Am also considering the Moxy and the Mercure Excelsior – neither have 2-room suites, but I’ve more use for Bonvoy and Accor points than Hyatt.

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread. We’re going to Belgrade next month and noticed that the Hilton was 3x the price of the Moxy. We are also looking at Mama Shelter, CP, HI and Indigo. As first time visitors, which would be the best area to stay and what is the best way to get to city centre from the airport?

    Thanks

Indigo if you want to be in the city centre. CP is nice too, but the last time I stayed was around six years ago. It is not far from Hyatt Regency which is no go-to after Metropolitan exited Marriott (without annoucement!) and Hilton is now charging through the roof. This is because you can guarantee an exectuive suite (one below presidential) at the time of booking for 10k points and the staff will treat you well.

For transport, the best is taxi, but they can be a rip-off so I’d be pre-book if you can. It should not cost more than 3000 rsd or about £22 one-way. I have no recent experience as I am usually picked up by colleagues and friends.

I would echo going to the Hyatt – it’s a notch above most Hyatt Regency’s, very reasonable, good breakfast and great staff. As @meta says the rooms are a little old, but well maintained. Although it’s just over the Brankov bridge it’s an easy walk into the older city (although I appreciate less easy with a baby) with great views of the old town and the tram that goes in lots of directions stops just outside.
