    Just use skyscanner

Isn’t Skyscanner just a search engine, not a broker? The overwhelming advice here will be to do your price searching using SkyScanner/Google Flights/etc. Bot only ever book the flights directly with the airlines. Adding a middle man to proceedings just adds a layer of complexity – especially if things go wrong and you have to liaise with an agent to be rebooked. But even simpler stuff like clarity on baggage entitlements can be wishy washy with the alleged discounter agents.

When I used to work for a premium tour operator many years ago, Travel Counsellors brought in a lot of business for us. They were very experienced travel agents working independently. I’ve recommended them to friends since and have never heard anything bad – basically Emyr but on a much wider scale.

Yes, absolutely, I should have clarified. Use skyscanner to see who flies when and where, then book direct.

I guess hiring a human can help if you’re not an av geek like us and have a pretty good feel for most airlines already.

When using ITA Matrix not all prices are available directly from OTAs or the airline. A quick google search on FT (FlyerTalk, not the newspaper) should allow you to find some options to book.

Thanks I use both ITA Matrix (Google) and Skyscanner – both a little tedious when trying to look across wider dates – Have found some good deals with Singapore out of LHR with a quick stop in Europe bar that not much else – Emirates would be one I would book but there prices post C19 have almost doubled – used to go every few months to Sing/KL/for 2.3 to 2.5k these days 4.4k up ! Also saw Miles & More doing a 2 4 1 via Lufty – in First but its very hard to keep up with all of the options so was hoping to locate an expert broker who does this all day long ! I think that is an impossibility Thanks for replies !
