Discuss today's stories:
Hi, i booked some flights late last night using my 2-4-1 voucher + avios (on my BA american express card)
It said you have 24 hours to cancel for a full refund. Should i do this via the website or is it best to call?
Would i definitely get my avios/total cash amount and 2-4-1 voucher refunded?
Is it definitely 24 hours you get or are they just using the current day you booked to judge that 24 hours, because i booked my flights at like 23.30pm and im sure i saw that it said the refund period was up to the 9th july 2024, which i found strange.
Anybody ever done this before and know which is the best way to get everything cancelled and refunded please? I dont want to lose all my avios and the 2-4-1 voucher but i have read on here BA are very difficult to deal with in terms of refunding things like money/avios/vouchers.
Thanks
Just cancel online, you’ll get everything back if it’s within 24 hours. It’ll be confirmed before you accept the refund anyway.

Thanks NorthernLass, is the refund for the avios and 2-4-1 instant?
when i go online its saying this:
Calculate refund
Total cash refund: £ 1041.18 (GB Pounds)
Avios refund:200000
E-voucher refund: BA American Express Premium Plus Companion Voucher
Then below it gives the full breakdown of flights to be refunded, avios to be refunded and the voucher number to be refunded. So i guess that means it all should be fine and im good to go ahead with a refund?
Yes, should all be fine.
Avios and voucher should reappear immediately, cash takes a few days.
In the rare event that they don’t, you’ll need to chase BA, but see what happens first, it will more than likely all work!

Got it all back thanks so much for your help! Much appreciated.
well i got the avios and voucher back, just hope they refund the money or dont take it from pending on my card! But thanks once again
If it’s still pending that will disappear shortly!
When I cancelled a BA flight within the 24 hours recently I was charged and then refunded separately.
