Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy Bonvoy Membership Status Error on Bookings

  • 13 posts

    Hello,

I have a super weird issues with my Bonvoy status on check in.
Hit titanium late in December 2023 and all my bookings since then confirm as titanium.
At the moment it’s 50:50 on check in whether the hotel thinks I am platinum or titanium. No obvious pattern sometimes they are franchise and sometimes managed properties, all UK so far.
The bookings are made since hitting titanium.

Points earned for the stays correctly calculating as titanium.

Phoning Bonvoy yielding absolutely nothing they just said I am titanium just show them my account.
They didn’t understand at all that I wanted hotels to see titanium before arrival for that tiny chance of an upgrade.

Apologies for the rant, has anyone encountered anything like this before? If so how did you resolve?

Another difficulty for small independent company IT systems.

    Many thanks!

Bonvoy CS did all they could do – they confirmed your status as Titanium and this is what you are, since you earn points at the Titanium rate.

The issue here is more likely just coming across clueless people on the front desk, who often confuse the two statuses. I even had one person tell me that something was only available for Platinum whereas I was only Titanium.

TBH there isn’t much difference between the two in terms of in-hotel treatment. There’s a Four Points I stay at regularly that never gave me a suite as a Titanium but gave me one once I’d dropped down to Platinum. I’ve flipped between these two statuses regularly and never seen an obvious difference.

As long as you’re getting the 75% points and all the benefits you’re entitled to it shouldn’t be a major concern.
