Book with cash, reduce price with e-voucher, then upgrade with Avios?

Hi,
Wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to do this:
I’m looking to book an open-jaw cash flight in PE, and use an e-voucher to reduce the price, but then also use avios to upgrade to business. There is avios availability in business. I understand that it’s 24k avios per leg to upgrade, but would I still be able to upgrade with avios if I used an e-voucher to reduce tne cash, and also do I need to ensure I’m booked onto a certain fare class?
I can price up the flights online, but will it book me to correct fare class to allow me to upgrade?
I’ve already booked another set of flights using avios today, but I’d rather do it this way, and cancel within the 24 hour window if it’s possible.
Would it require a call to ensure the correct booking class, and allow me to use the e-voucher?
Thanks!
I thought all WTP fares allowed you to upgrade. No idea if reducing the fare with an e-voucher would prevent a subsequent upgrade using Avios but i don’t see why it would cause an issue.
As for cancelling within 24 hours I thought that was onky possible with cash fares not reward flights which can be cancelled for £35 per passenger.
Pretty sure reward flights are also free to cancel within 24h.

Thanks, wasn’t sure if PE tickets have to be a certain fare class to upgrade, I know Economy do.
The reason why I’m not sure if using an e-voucher would cause issues, is because you can’t use e-voucher to reduce cash, and also use avios on top to reduce the cash further, so wasn’t sure if avios could be used later to upgrade.
Yes, cash and avios flights are free to cancel within 24 hours.
An update for future reference, I called BA and they were unable to apply the e-voucher, and to also upgrade using avios.
Why weren’t they able to apply the e-voucher? Were you trying to apply it to an existing booking?
Or are they saying you can only use an e’voucher against a cash booking but then won’t be able to upgrade?

Yes, they couldn’t use the e-voucher, and then upgrade using avios. Or, if they did upgrade using avios, they then couldn’t apply the e-voucher.
I was half-tempted to just book it with cash online and apply my e-voucher, and then see what options to upgrade come up, but i was worried about problems getting my e-voucher back if it didn’t work, as they are worth £450.
