Hi All,
I’ve qualified for Bronze using the RJ promo but have now had an email from BA saying that they will carry over any Status from TP’s I’ve earnt since 1st April until 1st April 2026 when my year ends in September.
I’m 50 TP’s Short of Bronze so wanted to book a return to EDI or somewhere. However it seems that as soon as you choose one class for the outbound that class is locked for the inbound.
Is there anyway of doing it as a return booking without having to call?
Mark
Can’t find a way on mobile but using my laptop on the website is fine.
I’m trying on desktop and if I search economy going out it shows me economy and biz but as soon as I select one for the outbound it shows me the same for the inbound.
Are you saying yours is showing business on the return if choosing economy on the outbound? If so, what browser are you using?
Just be aware that some economy fares only give you 5 TPs so you might end up with 45 TPs and not 50!
Have you tried starting with economy on the outbound – this usually also gives you the CE option? If you’re really struggling, though, you can always book each leg separately. If you’re flying HBO there’s no huge advantage to having both on one PNR, as long as you’re not trying to do a B2B.
Thanks, I’m aware that the cheapest economy only gets 5tp so need to book economy plus or whatever they call it.
If I book as two separate bookings, each leg is more expensive, which is why I was trying to book economy out and CE back or vice versa, but there just doesn’t seem to be any way to do it on the website.
You need to select economy checked luggage for the outbound
As @Nico says if you select HBO on the outbound you don’t get the option of Club on the return.
Be careful, Economy Plus means with checked bag, it DOES NOT mean 10TP. The number of TP is determined by the ticket class, Economy HBO and Economy Plus will be the same class & TP.

Tried that, still no joy 🙁
The only way I can get it to show both is to select Flexible, but that’s more than a return in business.
I usually fly to basel and it works, but yes EDI does not, very weird
Seems to be ANY UK destination it automatically selects the same class for the return.
Mine is on Chrome. Also works with HBO. But to answer your question, yes. Select Economy out and the return I can select business. Chrome on Windows (not logged in to BAEC, not sure if that makes a difference).
Edit: I was trying LHR-MAN which works fine. Can’t make it work on EDI.
