Can you book a flight for anyone or do they need to be in the same country? I want to book a flight as a gift for a family member in USA to visit me.
Also, do they benefit from my status? I am a Silver member so will they get a free checked baggage allowance? What about tier points? Thanks in advance.
Yes you can.
No your status doesn’t extend to them.
They will earn the TPs as they are the ones flying.

Slightly more nuanced….but if you book a cash flight for them. will it count as a revenue booking credited to you if you want to match status with BAEC?
