Is there an issue on BA.com? Tried all evening to book a domestic reward flight EDI-LON and get an error every time, on website and app?

Whilst BA IT is garbage, it’s let me book reward seats this evening. I have just tried to book reward EDI-LON and it seems to go okay – I didn’t go through to payment, but checking out seemed fine.

Thanks AL but I am still having issues, and search gets me a

Will try the clear cookies stuff.

I am also encountering the same issue trying to book a domestic to BHD. I am doing it on mobile if that makes any difference?

I don’t suppose it’s on the 15th of October is it!?

Coz I’ve been getting that error.

It doesn’t matter now as the flights I were looking to connect onto got snaffled anyway. Should have called midweek.

    Sad face.

Weirdly all other dates I’ve searched for from EDI-LON are fine.

DEL-LHR has given that message (without a “new” 241) for about the last 8 months!

Bingo! I’ve tried booking domestic Avios flights for 15 October and get same error repeatedly. Flights are available if you check Avios.com or ring in

Yes. Seems to be an issue for the last week.

Been trying to get domestic avios Manchester leg to show with no joy. Even just putting in a simple manchester to lhr round-trip errors.

You can book the LHR long haul sector and definitely add on the domestic legs with no supplementary fees. I think the USA call centre’s IT was functioning better.

I was quite excited with a San Francisco booking in first until I realised outbound no am avios flights at all (not much fun flying with luggage the day before) and inbound had a 7 hour layover

    NorthernLass 9,038 posts

You can check your luggage all the way through from MAN the day before your long haul flight as long as it’s all on one PNR and just keep your hand luggage with you. Inbound of course is another issue, with the MAN flight schedule being slashed during the pandemic you need to be on the ball with award flights.
Note that sometimes, selecting the “stopover” function gives you access to more MAN options than just asking for MAN-LHR-long haul! For example, you will see economy avios seats that way which you won’t on a normal J search, and obviously it’s preferable to have a shorter connecting time than spend 40 minutes in CE.

Well it’s a real pain in the @ss, still not working for me, I can see an avios flight from LHR to NYC, but as soon as I substitute EDI for NYC I get

Or GLA etc, this is hopeless. I’ve cleared cookies all that stuff, two different pcs etc. No avail.

    @RonnieB

    Call them!

Your post triggered me to get round to booking mine. I phoned just now and although I was after mid afternoon flights (I imagine you’ll want first thing) she said there were plenty flights available that day.

There is no off-line service fee because you cannot fulfil your booking online.

I got my first choice seats 4x the 2pm flight for a total of 19,000 Avios + £70.

    Cash cost £269 a pop.

    Winner winner chicken dinner.

    @Froggee

I might have to. Happy with mid day flights, got some Wimbledon tickets and it’s turning out the tickets are the cheap part – hotel prices in mid July are crazy in London.

    NorthernLass 9,038 posts

I’d forgotten about Wimbledon – the IC PL must be really annoyed that I bagged the intern 40k pn rate for mid-July; it’s now £800 pn for a “cosy” room that weekend!

We were lucky enough to score Men’s Final Centre Court in the ballot this year. Very excited but hotels were super expensive.

That’s what buying Hilton points at 0.5 cents is for. £300 or so for a decent hotel isn’t that unreasonable!

I’m not sure that works too well – several hotels like the Park Lane and Conrad are over half a million HH points a night for mid July LOL!

    Froggee 1,109 posts

I think the Hilton website might be a bit buggy this morning. I checked last night before posting and saw good availability whereas this morning it’s showing me everywhere sold out for all of July. And June, and May.

    Check back later!

That’s a premium room reward and they are always low value per point.

Hi, can someone please check availability on LON-BHD one way on 20th May? This particular date and route is giving me the error, despite the calendar showing availability on this date but not loading up. Could anyone else please check?

Yep – although I can check EDI availability for that date which is nice.

I imagine it will only be the 7:25am flight that is available in both business and economy as that is what American Airlines is showing and they appear to agree with BA for other dates.

But phone BA to be sure.

Frustratingly I can get it to show (and assume book) flights from/to EDI-LON in July, but every time I search for GLA it brings up the error. Any date, have tried multiple months, even 2024. A bug with the airport code I assume.

    Utterly ridiculous tbh.

Just come across this one myself now. Trying to book a LON-EDI on 8th September, return 10th September.

8th is no issue, but any combination of returns where the 10th of September would appear on the top bar results in an error.
