I’ve got 6 flights booked with finnair Manchester-Phuket. Looking to come back from Bangkok 21st feb 2026. The flights are already available on finnair, but not on BA due to it not showing flights that far in advance. Can you call up BA to book them, or do you have to wait until they show up online on BA. In household account so can’t transfer to finnair.

Why don’t you call up BA and ask?
Update:
I called, they were able to book them on the phone.
Keep in mind for next time the fees can be larger booking AY through BA. I saved £100 per person in taxes moving Avios to AY and buying there.

While I agree with this, note that there is no consistency. Sometimes BA is cheaper. Sometimes AY is. Always check both.
Also note that Finnair let you transfer your Avios to another person for a €10 fee
@zapato, @Alex G, thanks, I noticed this too nut have nit spent any time yet trying to figutr ot what’s going on. Also, for those who want to save a little with positioning flights or economy on the UK-HEL segments then those can be best booked on Qatar. I think the AY+ avios transfer requires the accounts to be open 90 days.
@polb, thanks for update, good to know. Be aware that miles-earning business class tickets from BKK to UK can be booked for about £1100n however, if you have the avios then burning on AY whilst reward prices are still at their current level would definitely be my choice.
I was looking at one way flights from LHR to HKG on Finnair. BA are charging £265 pp taxes. I checked on the Finnair site and they are charging £335 pp – so it looks like it’s a bit random whether BA or Finnair are cheaper, so best to check both.
Also keep in mind Finnair charge 50 to cancel or change
My current Finnair bookings (two bookings) cost less in taxes through the BA site.
Also, less when I priced up a flight to Seoul.
It was much cheaper booking through BA than finnair for these flights.
