I’m looking to book flights outbound to Japan using avois and companion ticket. Both seatspy and the Ba app shows 2 tickets available outbound to HND in business class. However, when I try to book they are not shown but premium plus are. Flights are for 25 sept 2024. Any idea why?
Popular route, probably snapped up at 1am today when the flights were released. Seatspy and the App will be out of date. Try calling at 1am tonight to snap up the 26th if that works for you.

Yes that’s what I thought… start phoning from Monday 😬.
Tokyo flights are impossible to get now. I raised the same point here as I’d like to use my Barclays Upgrade Voucher:
Have you tried getting to PKX or PVG – there’s plenty of availability there and then a short cash flight on a LCC onward to HND or NRT.
I’ve all but given up and will probably use my voucher for a PE redemption (as that is wide open)
It’s certainly an option it adds a bit to the journey time but if the other fails…

Or you could look at it as a great opportunity to spend a few days in Beijing or Shanghai…
Am I getting mixed up with various vouchers but isn’t there often extra availability from the regions?
True you may have to then get to / from the regional airport but surely worth it as part of the overall scheme of getting to Tokyo and using voycher
I’m told there is but I’ve not seen it yet for Toyko via Manchester to London.
The extra availability isn’t usually released until some time after the standard award seats (although I have had the “extra availability” message pop up when making a 241 booking at T-355 on the GCM route). Rob mentioned in another thread that 3-4 months out is the most likely time for this to be released, however it’s not guaranteed and BA may decide they are selling enough cash tickets to not need to do it.
Shanghai would definitely tempt me to stop over for a few days if I was heading that way.

There are other Uk BA destinations! Someone said not long ago they managed to get to Tokyo by starting in NCL and I’m sure someone else was asking about Belfast.
Yes indeed, try EDI/ABZ/JER etc as well.
If you’re fairly new to this there’s no substitute for immersing yourself in Rob’s articles and the various threads on here aimed at getting the best out of avios/241s. A lot of people don’t do any research then get themselves into a pickle trying to get seats to tricky destinations.
