Booking for family 9+ people

I notice I have to ring if I book for more than 9 people.
Why is this? Do I get a travel agent discount?

Purely IT related. Airline systems aren’t designed to count beyond 9. This is why, for eg, ba.com will show the exact number of Avios seats available if it is 9 or fewer but doesn’t give the total if it is more.
