Booking Reward – Change Tips

Hi
Was hoping for some advice please.
Have got a reward Upper return booking in April 23 and would like to change destination. LHR to MIA then Bahamas to LHR – 6 nights. There looks to be no hope of availability in April so will try for Dec 23
Do I need to wait for both outbound and return flights to become available before changing?
I’m thinking if I just try to do outbound first then the outbound effectively moves to after the return…is there any way round this or does it not even matter?

I’m assuming these are booked in G. You need to wait for the new flights to open up (which, if they’re not already, should be within the next month, as VS open flights 330 days prior to departure), before you can book on to them, in theory. But, since you’re flying Upper, give them a call and see if they can do something for you.
