With BA companion vouchers now allowing the trip to start outside the U.K. what’s the easiest way to search for reward flights? Seatspy doesn’t seem to offer the option and the BA site didn’t help. I’m looking for a trip to Dubai in November and there’s nothing available from the U.K. in club world, so trying to see if I can start the leg elsewhere.
Any flights have to be on BA metal i.e. a BA plane so starting outside the UK will not help you as you need availability on BA flights from London to Dubai either way. The only benefit of being able to start outside the UK (unless you do actually want to start outside the UK) is you can save on taxes/fees.
So currently there are no club world flights to Dubai available as a redemption.
Assuming you have a new style voucher (given you can can start outside the UK) then there will possibly be additional flights available that Seatspy doesn’t show. However if you’ve checked with that voucher and there are none, all you can do is keep checking as it depends on the number of I class business seats available using a mysterious algorithm so the situation could change.
World Cup is in Qatar in Nov, so redemption flights to Dubai,Qatar and other Arabian destinations will be in short supply from anywhere in Europe Id imagine
