Can Amex Travel refund as a voucher rather than card credit?

I made a refundable AMEX hotel booking via AMEX Travel to use the £75 voucher.

Thing is it now looks like I might need to change the booking. Can I get Amex to issue a voucher or will it just be a straight refund to the card, as the latter will wipe out the credit, and I’m not sure it’ll repost in time for me to apply it before expiry on 16/12.

I cancelled a fully refundable car hire which was £250 and had been paid using a £200 Business Plat annual travel credit and asked the same question to be told no but the full £250 would be refunded – and was – to my card
