A friend who is currently renovating their house is reaching their credit limit early in the month. Amex won’t increase their limit but if they pay off the balance mid month can they spend again?
They are paying off the full balance each month.
Yes.
Although I would let them know about the house renov and increased spend, especially if its a new card. Ensure all payments are from the cardholders bank account only
The Virgin cards in particular are explicit that you can’t earn any more points per period than your credit limit. I think they’re the only card with that restriction.
I have credit limits of over £100k with Amex across various cards but my Accelerating Business Amex has a sub £10k limit and because it is a business card they cannot (or won’t) move limits across from other cards.
I routinely use £10/20k a month and simply go to the website and pay the balance down but it is not ideal. Recently I have been sending them £20/30k via the bank and then they send me a letter saying they can refund it if I want !
They truly are stupid !
