Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Can new 241 be booked on different outbound & inbound airports

Due to unavailable avios seats, i am wondering whether i can book an outbound from london to Shanghai/HK then return from KL/SG with the new style 241 as the old 241 was based on zones. TIA

If it helps, I’ve got a Tokyo to London ‘outbound’ and a London to Kuala Lumpur ‘inbound’ using the new style voucher.
Will need BA intervention though as multi city can’t be done online with the voucher (mine were 2 * one ways, with half the Avios refunded later).
Actually, are there even any old style vouchers left now?

Also, I think there is a very long and comprehensive thread elsewhere on this forum that has useful info for you.

EDIT: it was just a few threads down!

@cercwc76 – The ‘zones’ issue wasn’t directly connected even to old vouchers which, as @Aston100 says, must be virtually extinct now if they still exist at all. BA had this policy that if you say booked an open jaw with the arrival / departure airports being in different zones, that was then fixed and you couldn’t change the zone of either flight without re-booking but I think that was dropped a good while ago, possibly in the PC era. So, yes you can absolutely book the itinerary you cite in any combination thereof.

Good to know that someone had done it before. May i know did you call BA CS to do that or just book individual ticket via website? Both tickets i wanted are available online.

You need to call BA to book these open jaws with a companion voucher. They will usually only allow separate bookings and refund Avios on the second if the inbound wasn’t available at the time of booking the outbound. In your case it sounds as though that doesn’t apply.

    Thanks for the advice
