I am OneWorld Sapphire via Royal Jordanian Status Match.
I have a China Southern flight connecting in Guangzhou.
If i use my Royal Jordanian frequent flyer number when I check into my China Southern flight, will I be able to access the OneWorld lounge in Guangzhou with a guest?
I’ve also read that you can put your BA number down to collect Avios from China Southern flights and maybe then just flash the Royal Jordanian card at the lounge agent? Would that work?
Many thanks. I’ve linked the lounge page below.

Access for eligible customers traveling on these oneworld member airlines only.
China Southern has never been a Oneworld member and they don’t have any partnership with RJ so don’t think you will get lounge access.
I read that page as the specific airlines listed like QR and MH as using those lounges on a contract basis and it doesn’t extend to a general
OW usage.
It’s akin to LATAM using the BA lounges at LHR T3 and it doesn’t extend to using any of the other OW lounge even if you have a OW status.

So who is the Pearl Lounge for, it’s a bit confusing!
That’s what isn’t clear to me. Why is the lounge listed on Oneworld website then?
That’s what isn’t clear to me. Why is the lounge listed on Oneworld website then?
It is quite simple! The Pearl lounge is for pax travelling on CZ either through their class of travel or OW status. It is not open to non CZ passengers. The other Premium lounge is the same – open to pax travelling MH, CX or QR in the right class or in a lower class if they hold OW status. If, for example you are travelling on China Eastern, whatever OW status you have, the lounges are not open to you.
Because it’s used by certain OW airlines on a contract basis for their flights only.
For a while the aspire lounge at AMS was listed on the OW database because it was used by BA and AA for their flights.
Simple rule of thumb if you’re not flying on a OW airline then your OW status does not apply.
China Southern isn’t a OW airline.
