Can you keep points if you close your card?

I have a personal Amex gold and a business platinum. As far as i know you can’t merge the points on a business and personal but thinking of closing the personal – will i lose the points?

Also, can you downgrade Amex business plat to business gold and how do i do this? Getting expensive!

I have got business and personal under one login and just toggle between the two.

You can definitely merge the two MR accounts, and then keep your points if you close 1 card
