I’ve got 2 ready to redeem BAPP 241 vouchers, and 1 tied up in an FTV – if I cancel my BAPP (to go Plat) will I lose any? (inc the one tied up in an FTV?) I thought I read you just need to use an amex to pay – apols if this has been asked a billion times, I went a goodly few pages in search first!

I’m impressed you claim to offer such certainty. Is this just on the basis of past conduct or some insight into the new country manager’s review of all these things since her appointment last month?
You don’t lose vouchers once they are in your BAEC account – although Amex might tell you that if you call to close a card. You are supposed to pay the fees with an Amex and on occasion we have been told by BA that it has to be a card in the name of the voucher owner.
However, we have also made a change to a previously booked trip, which was processed as a cancel and re-book – the refund went to a closed card and the new fees were paid with an unrelated Amex.
There is a bit in the small print which says you ‘must remain eligible’ so you take it on your own risk I guess:
16. Cardmembers must remain eligible for use of the Companion Voucher in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the British Airways Executive Club Terms and Conditions at the time of travel. British Airways and American Express reserve the right to refuse to issue or honour any Companion Voucher in the event that the Cardmember is in breach of the terms of the British Airways American Express Card or the British Airways Executive Club Membership.
