    If I book an avios.flight that is 19500 Avios + £ 93.00 would the cancellation charge be £1 or £93. I’m sure I read somewhere its only a £1

It will be £35 so you will get all the avios back and £93-35 refunded to you.

However, a lot of people (me included) have been charged only £0.50 or £1 lately (I was charged £1 for two avios bookings). That is why you are reading this in the forum.

We believe it may be a mistake.

PS: if you paid £10 for instance you will simply not get a refund. You get a refund of any thing over £35 (usually)

If you paid £0. You will pay no money to refund your ticket (will simply get all your avios back for free).

Thanks so much sorry I forgot to clarify it’s a return booking (so both fights) so would the cancellation be 35 or £70 if charged fully

Before you hit confirm, it should show you online how much cash and avios you will get back.

I, too, was only charged £1pp to cancel short-haul return tickets. The seats also went immediately back into inventory.

Maybe somebody can correct me here but I believe it is £35 for a return too (per person). However, if you decided to cancel only one of the two it would be £35 and then another £35 for the other flight.

May be worth noting this is for any airline. So if you book BA, IB, AA, JAL, etc. on BA’s website the rules remain the same.

However, if you book on IB’s website, only the IB flights are refundable for €25. For all others airlines you cannot cancel.
