Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Can’t check in online for flight tomorrow to Phuket via Doha

  • 115 posts

    Hi,
My daughter is travelling to Phuket tomorrow from Gatwick (BA metal ) via Doha. She can’t check in online. Calling up takes forever but having persisted just get, it’s under airport control / it’s because your second flight is on another airline. Doing dummy bookings seems to show a flight that isn’t selling seats except for 2 in economy. There are two of them just Blue status travelling in Y. Should they be concerned?
Last time we had a similar issue we were bumped off our connecting flight in Madrid and missed a cruise, so I feel a bit nervous on her behalf.
Would you just show up early to the airport in her shoes?
    Thanks as always

I might be wrong but I think it’s down to covid paperwork. The airline need to check it personally before check in.
Hope that’s all it is, me and my wife are taking the same route on Thursday.

Almost certainly a paperwork check at the airport, I couldn’t check in online for Singapore in Jan or for my return from Bangkok in Feb.

Hi it did seem to be for the paperwork checks. Of course they ended up with rubbish seats but at least they are seated together and got away okay.

Hope they have a great time, Phuket airport was very well-organised, from landing to being in the hotel taxi was 25 mins. There were still some places closed but enough was open to make it a good holiday.

Just wondering how quickly you got your results after arriving. Did the hotel make you stay in your room until you got the all clear ?

Sample was taken at 1830, result at 2345 while we were asleep. Yes we had to stay in our room but I’m not sure how they’d have policed it? In Singapore we had a key that would only work once and needed to be replaced, in Phuket the key worked multiple times. To be honest staying in the room wasn’t a problem, room service and an early night.

We land at 12:35, hopefully have them back in time for the evening.
    Thanks for the reply
