Bit of background:
Marriott seems to have this promotion every year, and in all past years I have utilized it and no issues registering. Current status is Platinum and KrisFlyer linked. Promo info / register link:

What’s going on? On various forums people are saying some or all of the following:
SCENARIO 1: website / app having issues, it’s a global promotion but there’s always some members who cannot register, contact CS by phone or email and they can manually register
SCENARIO 2: it’s actually not global promo, it’s targeted, so even though it’s on their main website, login page, and on your offers page, some people may still not qualify.
My point here is that this is unprofessional on one or more levels:
– If it’s an IT / database issue on the backend, Bonvoy should fix the problem. It is creating bad sentiment to see one or more offers on your app, web account, or email and then when you finally click through you are told it is not working.
– If, in the case of scenario 2, it is a targetted promo, there should be clarity into who gets it and who doesn’t, and for people unqualified to get it, they definitely should not see or receive the offer in their app, web, and emails. Secondly, without sounding entitled, I hope, I am a multiyear Platinum/Titanium/ 2 year Ambassador member. While it is true I don’t need such a promo to get my desired status (Platinum in this case) it makes me feel disrespected as a customer that they would not offer me this promo despite my years of loyalty and $200 k++ in business.
Very disappointing no matter what has happened. Bonvoy please fix this!

If something is hard to fix and you’re getting no joy with CS, I’d try contacting one of the Marriott Lurkers on Flyertalk.

There often seem to be problems registering for Marriott global promotions for some people. I’ve found the Flyertalk Marriott lurkers pretty good at sorting it out – I went straight to them rather than bothering with calling CS.

You could contact them on FT or X instead of watching here with interest. I think you’ll be watching for a long time.
