I’m not complaining only trying to understand the award.
I booked a flight LHR>>LIS for 7 days, as I’m hungry for Tier points (to retain silver) I booked a rental car to make this a BA holiday.
Normally this is 10 tier points each way but as its a holiday it should be 20 points each way.
Looking at my BA app, it’s awarded me 2x 10 tier points and a “BA Holidays Tier Point award” of 253 Tier Points.
Does anybody know why BA is so generous?
It’s the BA TP random number generator at play! There are no routes that even give you 253 TP’s.
No doubt in due course it will correct itself.
Flyertalk has a long thread on BAH’s and a few readers have posted getting more TPs than they expected. I haven’t seen anyone say they’ve been clawed back yet.
A few have had random postings of more or less and been corrected.
However, not everyone so YMMV and well done if you did get 233 extra 🙂
Did you by any chance pay £253 for the package? Probably unlikely as that seems a bit low for a flight & at least five days car hire, but as these still seem to get posted manually I’m wondering if someone has managed to confuse Bonus Avios with Double Tier Points.
It does seem a random amount. Last BAH, 2 of us were posted the extra 160TPs (correct) and a third, 154TPs!

It was £813 for 2 people and a large car
