Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Change one leg of a 2-4-1 Open Jaw Booking

    Hopefully a quick one,

I have an open jaw 2-4-1 booking in to Las Vegas on Premium Economy and back from Phoenix in Business.

I’d like to change the Vegas flight to either LAX or San Diego.

I am hoping this is just a matter of ringing to get it changed and would be 35 each fee? I assume I’d also need reward availability on the new flight as well?

    Cheers

It’s certainly possible but people on here have posted previously that it involves cancelling and rebooking, which would risk you losing the LAS seats. Is it currently all on one PNR? One of the reasons I like to book each leg separately is that it makes it much easier to make this kind of change.

    Thanks.

It is all on one PNR. The change isn’t vital but would makes timings a bit easier.

Probably best just to call and ask and hope you get someone who speaks sense!

    Cheers. I’ll do that

Looks like they are all in the same avios zone which is a requirement.

As is there being availability on the new flight.

And you’ll have to pay if there have been any changes in the fees and taxes.

And whilst this is technically a cancel and rebook an agent can place seats on hold during the process so 99/100 it isn’t an issue.

Thanks. I’ve done a couple of dummy bookings and there does seem to be the availability but I need to check the fees and taxes to see if it is actually worth doing.

I’ll do some more checking before ringing.

    Cheers

Only last week I changed the return leg of a 2-4-1 open jaw from Houston to Austin. I did it by phone no problem. There was avios availability, the avios amount was the same and I was charged £35 per passenger. It was so easy and straightforward.

I was rejected today trying to change London-Shanghai return to open jaw London-Shanghai Beijing-London. Unless I have to cancel and rebook the whole journey
