My partner and I have got a one way Premium Econ flight from Miami to LHR end of this month, booked using a Virgin credit card voucher. Each ticket is billed at $452 and 18,000 points. Due to changing work commitments, it’s just going to be me travelling now. To book with Virgin and use the voucher, I had to call them – can they amend the booking so it’s just for me and I get a refund of the other half’s $452 airfare (minus any fees)? Or will they have to cancel the whole booking? There’s no points fares available now or reasonable cash fares so if it’s not possible, prob best to just keep the booking.
Call the helpline and ask them. I assume you’d be able to get just one of the flights refunded (minus the cancellation fee) on the basis that the change/refund fee is per person, not per booking. Either way the helpline will give you the answer and then you’ll have the option to make the change when you’re on there.
