Hi, Ive booked the outbound to SIN for 11th Feb on a 2-4-1, I called to book the inbound from MAA on the 6th March and had to pay £ 35 each for a change fee. I did challenge this but the operator was insistent.
Is this correct ?
Thanks
No. I’ve never had to pay to add on the inbound of a 241. Call again
No. Because technically you simply book the inbound flight and then put them together.
What the operator did was charge you £35 to cancel the old flight and rebook maybe?
It can be easier to just book the inbound online (if you have enough avios) and request 50% back via chat/Twitter/phone.
I had this once. I insisted no £35 charges should be made, but the agent didn’t stop pushing. I just paid it as I needed the flights booked ASAP. However, a few days later (when my booking had to go to back office for ticketing), I got an email saying “please call us about your booking”. Called and found out they were refunding the £35s as the agent was wrong. Worth calling again and seeing what they say IMO.
