Just had an email from Chase saying that they’re launching a UK credit card. Seems applications are from next week and that it’s by invitation for now. Could be an interesting card but they’re not giving anything away at the moment.
https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/chase-cc/ – this was the discussion last year about the initial pilot – there may some clues in there if they haven’t changed much with the card.
They have been testing this with staff and a few selected customers. Like the UK banking products, it’s fairly plain vanilla – no annual fee, no FX fees and seemingly 0% on purchases. No rewards element.
Took one out a month ago as I didn’t have a credit card that had no foreign transaction fees and wanted the protection, no other perks. It uses the previous days bank rate I think so not perfect but worth the odd 1% for S75 protection.
I have had one for a month or so, the 18 months 0% on purchases was my incentive.
Money in the bank earning 5% instead of paying the credit card bill is better than 1% cashback.
Plus I use it behind Zilch and Curve for the extra cashback.
