@Froggee Thanks for the reply, the friend who was asking mixed up their arrival terminal at Changi for the departure terminal at Heathrow. It was too late to delete the post but I could edit it. Appreciate the reply though, sad face not required. Hope the adolescent tadpoles are behaving.

Any views on the Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon? Not expecting much, but is the lounge any good?

Pretty basic lounge. Fine for a few beers and some v.basic nibbles at happy hour. Mediocre coffee, cheap wine. All very JD Wetherspoons.

Wouldn’t go out of your way for it, but if you’re there perfectly passable for a quick drink.

We have stayed several times at CP Stratford. Both before and after renovation. We like it there – we have two young kids so good for the pool etc. Always had one of the suites with an interconnecting room so makes a great 2-bed suite with 3 full bathrooms.
The lounge is pretty good. Better than other CP Lounges in the UK. Canapés were a pretty good standard last time we stayed. Beer on a pump, with decent selection of soft drinks and then the basic 3 wine choice. Red, white and rose. It’s got a nice feel to it – reminds me of an old American clubhouse resort / type decor to it. However, the lounge is unattended. This means if you have children, they can’t go in during the alcohol happy hour times, but they are more than happy for you to sit outside in the seating area next to the lounge. And then feel free to go in and out as you please 🙂

Have stayed at the Indigo several times too. Really nice. Older style – but done very well. We last stayed in February which meant it was lovely and cosy there. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of red in one of the side lounges where it was quiet, fire on and very relaxing. Ate in the restaurant and had the most amazing meal. No pool, no lounge.
