Received an e-mail saying Wizz Air now accept Amex. Looking forward to a Wizz statement credit offer appearing soon, or maybe it will only appear on Centurion 😉
And has anyone else seen the TK million point offer? I would love to do this but have family commitments that would make it very difficult.
Staying at Hilton Garden Inn Manchester soon. I booked a cash rate without breakfast as I am HH Gold. Am I right that breakfast would be included for 2 people? Under MyWay hotel benefits, I have the option to choose continental breakfast or 750 points. I am thinking I should choose the latter as breakfast should be included anyway no matter what the rate. Will that work?
As per @davefl, you need to select the breakfast benefit really. A lot of hotels would still let you have it if you asked for it on arrival, but technically it’s what you’ve already selected by check in and they’d be within their rights to insist on giving you a 1000 points or a snack if that’s what it said on your account.
It’s worth taking a couple of minutes to go through all the different hotel brands in your app and set them to your preferred option to avoid any unpleasant surprises on arrival!
Does anyone have an archive link to John Aldridge’s BA Telegraph article please.
John Arlidge you mean?
@davefl, are you talking about a positive Avios balance or a positive Amex card balance?
It appears that the Amex account is now showing a postive Avios balance which equals the current balance on my BA Avios account.
I haven’t spent a penny on the Amex card since early May and only £256 this year.
Has done for a number of weeks now. Gives you another point to see your Avios balance on BA. You will still only see specific details of Avios being earned for those which relate to purchases on the BA Amex though.
In short, full Avios balance is general, BA Amex specific Avios earnings are in the track my earnings.

That first quote from a genuine traveller is hilarious. Adam Marshall, 27, a commercial director from London. Presumably a commercial director for IAG? 🤣
Adam first says “ I’m a BA silver card holder and I’m happy with the overall changes to the programme, under which I earn tier points for pounds spent with BA, not on distance flown” which absolutely positively does not in any way sound like the dream quote of the marketing team.
Adam then follows with “My only loss is that under the new system I don’t expect to earn enough tier points to get a Gold Upgrade Voucher.”
BA, we see you 🤡

Yes I understand now but it’s confusing and just plain wrong. Amex have no business interrogating my BA account. They should just show Avios earnt in the month and transfer across. I never gave them permission to access what’s in my BA account as I have done with Nectar for example when doing a conversion.
I didn’t notice the change earlier because my BA balance was zero as my Avios balance is elsewhere.

I flagged this in the comments a few weeks ago when it happened! I had to double take when I first saw it, I thought my OH had rinsed my BAPP!
Good morning from the departure lounge at a very pleasant Bergen airport.
Newcastle-Bergen by train, 36 hours
Bergen-Edinburgh by ERJ 1h35, but a lot less scenic!
36 hours by train? Wow.
I took the ferry a few times, used to take about 24 hours, including 4 hours of scenic cruising from Stavanger along the coast to Bergen. Sadly axed in 2008.
Help please!
Can I book outward LHR to Denver and return Seattle to LHR reward flights with 2-4-1 voucher? Do I have to phone BA or is it possible on the website ?

I got a Best Price Guarantee accepted from Accor for a stay at the Ibis Heathrow Airport soon. Surprised, as I thought they usually reject these for spurious reasons!
Anyway, I’m now in an email chain where Accor Customer Services have emailed the hotel with the good news, and the hotel have responded to Accor Customer Services with a non-committal response saying that booking directly provides benefits third parties don’t offer.
Grabbing the popcorn to see who wins the customer service battle next week.
