As it’s over 6 hours since it started I thought I should open the chat up with a hello from the IC in Sydney!
We ate at Gaffel am Dom last night, traditional German food, great service and really busy. Spent just over £100 and no issues with taking Amex, had an email a few hours later to say the overseas dining benefit had tracked.
@qc Enoy, 190 days and counting for our Australia trip.

And “Hello” from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh (India).
It’s a glorious 26°C with clear blue skies. This is my last full day so time to go into town for a bit of a mooch.
In between workshops and meetings I’ve been in the field a few places and yesterday went through the world’s highest road tunnel, just over 10,000 feet. Spectacular Himalayan scenery on either side.Conrad Centenial Singapore is being renamed to the Conrad Marina Bay from the 15th of April.

Lovely brauhaus. Really enjoy central Koeln.
Merhaba from Sokullu Pasa hotel Istanbul. A ‘special class’ hotel on BAH, so smallish, traditional, very friendly and so far comfortable. Walking distance to everything in Sultanahmet.
Queen sized bed, proper door on bathroom, large shower with rainshower head only, 11 ‘normal’ hangers, tea/coffee/kettle, mini fridge in room. Breakfast very traditional turkish.Fabulous flight over yesterday, got the personal greeting every crew interaction which is never expected but nice when it happens. Spent an hour sitting in galley chatting with crew after meal service etc after popping to ask if they had any coffee on the go; and I can neither confirm nor deny that a bottle of fizz was donated to my cabin bag by the IFM!
Cannot make this up, just got an email from BA with the link: https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/BritishAirways to bid for upgrades … of course it doesn’t work.
However, if I type https://upgrade.plusgrade.com/offer/Iberia it works fine.
It is not only BA’s IT that is a mess but anything they touch really.
(Posted on the wrong day thread by mistake)Ha! Message says “This page is not working at the moment” – no surprises there,
Iberia link does take you to their website, but I tried inputting all my booking refs and every one came back with “Sorry, we don’t have space”.
Just noticed a short term benefit of the BA TP transition arrangements. Previously most CW returns would earn you 280TP, just short of Bronze.
Flights booked before Dec 30th currently net 3,734 nTP and straight to Bronze. Two returns would leave you £32 short of Silver, which might even make a SAF ‘donation’ worth considering.
@Panda Mick… Thanks and well spotted. Just seen it It’s on the App with the following note:
“From 15 April 2025, Conrad Centennial Singapore becomes Conrad Singapore Marina Bay—a name that reflects our deep connection to this vibrant destination, with the same thoughtful luxury and exceptional experiences. We look forward to welcoming you.”
Fantastic hotel in a good location, with excellent staff. Looking forward to returning there, hopefully later this year.
Interesting RE the “plusgrade” upgrade offer – is this something they have done before? Never seen it before

It really is. I think it’s under appreciated. The service in the entire hotel is just 1st class
I’ve had a tough week at work here, somewhat compounded by work, but also by some of the shortcomings of the HGI. Which is why I spent the last night of my travels here last night. I slept for 10 hours last night. Have never felt so well rested in any hotel

So pleased you have had the same experience and a good end to a difficult week. I am Lifetime Hilton Diamond and irrespective of my Hilton Status, the hotel went above and beyond helping me with various issues re: connecting flights, excess baggage and that I had to sort out whilst there. Hope your forthcoming week continues to be better.
