Good morning, a quick question please:
I have a BA flight booked using a companion voucher.
I wish to change to a different date.
Using another companion voucher I can see additional (‘unlocked’) availability on several days including one that suits me well.
MMB does not show any of those days when I go to make a date change. I presume it only allows a change to a date with regular availability.

Am I going to have to make a phone call and incur an additional £15pp service fee on top of the regular £35pp change fee?

    Thanks

Are you wanting to change just one leg (so don’t want to cancel and rebook)? If so I think you’d have a good case for having the phone fee waived because you can’t make the particular change you want online.

When flying from Singapore to Helsinki with Finnair in J, what time do you need to be at the boarding gate for the security check? I guess there’s no priority lane at that point, is there?

Supposed to be flying with BA from Heathrow to Paris this morning, to then fly onto Malaysia on a separate ticket (much cheaper!). Unfortunately, due to a French ATC strike, BA have cancelled my flight! The earliest they can rebook me for is after my onward flight departs… (Onward flight still showing as operating)

New plan is train to London, Eurostar to Lille, then TGV to Paris CDG. Luckily I allowed plenty of time in Paris in case of problems!

Annoyingly BA say they can’t currently rebook onto Eurostar, so I’ve had to book this myself and try to claim the extra costs back from BA. In theory they have protected my return segment so it won’t be auto-cancelled despite not flying the outbound, but given it’s BA, what’s the odds that I’ll have problems in a few weeks when I come to return?

My experience a few months ago was that they left it quite late. I went down from the lounge and found the place almost deserted, aside from the security staff – I rushed in, assuming that everyone had already boarded and I was late but no, they hadn’t opened the scanners yet…

No idea whether that was a one-off or policy though, so I probably wouldn’t leave it *too* last-minute 😉

And no, no priority lane. (I *think* – I do have a vague recollection of there being one, but I think that may have been a different flight, possibly Qantas. Maybe even a different airport 😂)

SQ start the boarding early and do have priority lanes, but obviously that’s their hub. Other airlines are less organised and not coordinated well with airport staff. As Jon says, best not to leave it late.

Greetings from Manchester Aspire T2. We left the ibis at 640 and got to the lounge at 7.

We had purchased fast track but it wasn’t operating at security east. The lady said we could go to security west or use normal security lanes at east. She said there was no one else queuing. She was correct.

Sadly cannot get a refund for the fast track I purchased. Security in T2 that we met were very pleasant. A world away from the other terminals.

Public realm is appalling across all of T2 and the other terminals. Not at all pedestrian friendly.

Aspire feels like a bit of an afterthought. It’s along a dingy corridor. Quite small and gloomy. Despite having pre booked I couldn’t find a table for 4 so I’ve had to rearrange the furniture.

Good job we booked the lounge. It’s not even half full but we wouldn’t have got in unless in business or pre booked. Within a few minutes of being here it’s gone down to 10%.

    Have a good day

Incidentally our tickets in Swiss today were booked using trip.com because the price was much cheaper than booking direct or using any other agent. £347 return for four of us

Good Morning from CPT4…..from the roadside outfront. The fire alarm has gone off. To those that are regular here probably aren’t shocked in hearing that. Have to say, their fire alarm seems to go off fairly often here. At least this time, it is a bit more civilised at 7am and it’s warm outside. Beats the last one they had here which was a cold 3am morning….. standing around.

Parts of the Aspire T2 lounge here in Manchester have got a carpeted floor. It evidently needs a deep clean !

    Thanks both of you

Ta-da – When you log in to your BAC account, a link to ‘View your statement’ has (re)appeared at the top of the page just underneath the current Avios balance.

How do they think of these amazing innovations???

I’ve just checked the app and mine have appeared, dated today. The ones for the bank account showed up yesterday.

I had a message, including an apology, in the app yesterday stating that there was a problem and they they should be awarded today.

“As with all things LHR there are generally very few seats. Paris Rome Amsterdam and Frankfurt might work. In my experience they offer Vietnam airlines China Airlines and occasionally KLM connecting to China airlines. If you list to LHR you will struggle.”

    @paul
my problem is that the Delta site, using the price calendar, shows plenty of days with flights from SYD to LHR at 90k points, but when you click on the individual days it then says “no flights available”

I was hoping this was a system error but I rang Delta and they couldn’t see any 90k flights over numerous dates I tried, and the same thing happened when I tried CDG/FRA/MUC

So I’m just a bit stuck and annoyed the website seems to think the direct Vietnam flights exist when you search but not when you try to book

Have just got a targeted email from BAC to persuade me to book a BAH. Does anyone know if both people on the booking get the bonus if we both register as clearly only one person can make the booking. The bonus was 10,000 Avios so worth taking the offer up.

    T&C include this:
5.1. Eligible Participants who pay for and travel on any Qualifying Holiday, will be awarded the bonus Avios after the trip is completed

So I’d interpret that as only the booker

Getting your rail travel refunded shouldn’t be an issue, have done it many times.

Would definitely keep an eye on the return flight surviving in MMB over the coming days and call them if not.

Ha, Ha> I noticed that yesterday. I’d been looking for it to check out a flight I booked and then cancelled in under 24 hours, was showing. Was beginning to panic – not about the flight, about where ‘view your statement’ had disappeared to.

I’ve stayed there a couple of dozen times in the last couple of years or so and never had this happen.
