Would someone be kind enough to remind me of the same day free change rules on BA please?

If ticket is economy plus, you can change for free with “manage my booking” from 12 a.m. BST.

This may not be true. My flight last week could not be done via MMB because I had upgraded it prior to checkin. this also impacted the ability to SDC the the return. The BA agent I spoke with did it all but only after 1am uk time and told me this is now the time. There are multiple reports of this on FlyerTalk and it does seem that experiences differ.

But basically ET+ fare ( the one that allows a bag) of CE should allow SDC

quoting posts seems to make my post disappear, but in answer to the query of showing boarding pass and status proof, I would have thought the need to show a boarding pass was to prove that you were flying on a one world/ BA flight rather than that the frequent flyer number matches the loyalty card. A passport can prove the loyalty card is the persons own, the boarding pass proves the person is flying with an airline that gains them access to the lounge.

    @Tracey
    – the legal terms explain why they want to see the BP and it isn’t (just) for the reason you state above. To access the lounge, you must show a BP clearly showing your membership number and status tier. It should go without saying that the tier shown on the BP needs to be one that grants access!

In many cases the pax will be travelling in a cabin that allows lounge access or the lounge agent will just accept an ineligible boarding card if they see an eligible membership card so it becomes irrelevant, but it is as well to be prepared/know the rules and, in any event, the problem is entirely avoidable by getting the right status printed on the boarding card.

It’s going to be messy until people gain the necessary status in another OW scheme.

Why should it be messy? There are two fields for FQTV numbers. BA must have known this would be an issue with on one hand people wishing to avail themselves of their earned benefits and on the other those same passengers wishing to jump ship to other FFP programmes. After all we asked for this and BA responded and so they must have also been aware that many of us would do just this.

@can2 – where are you off to?

Porto, for a quick work/pleasure trip. But it is in mid-July, not exactly the time to travel in Y for me.. So happy to have grabbed a seat in Club!

As with ticket release at T-355, the SDC ‘day’ starts at midnight GMT, so 0100 in the UK when BST is in force or local time equivalent when elsewhere in the world.

@Paul – too many quotes/requotes above. The reason it’s messy is that many BA agents and passengers don’t understand how to handle the situation correctly and are hoping (per recent experiences) to wing it. This will inevitably result in disappointment on occasions – lounge access refusal, fast track not allowed, points accruing to the wrong scheme and more. Your earlier post suggests you have already experienced this.

The system will default to populating the FQTV and FQTS fields with the same number and attempts to enter different numbers at different times by the inexperienced are highly error prone and if a passenger elects to toggle between different schemes via MMB or calling/chatting to BA the timing and getting the inputs right is equally error prone. A good travel agent should make it a lot easier/safer.

..The system will default to populating the FQTV and FQTS fields with the same number…

Just let the passenger have access to their booking so they can populate the FQTV and FQTS fields themselves.

The reason that such access rights or functionality (for this and many other functions) are not granted to passengers is because they cannot be relied upon to exercise them properly. The lack of knowledge revealed in these recent threads confirms why only airline and travel agents should have this level of access.

There’s a procedure that allows for two FF numbers to be applied to a booking and it’s only when failing to follow the procedure that a passenger might run into a problem. BA can hardly be held responsible for any issues that arise.

BA ask me to put my name, my passport details etc. into a booking and assume I can get that right. Frequent flyer number entries really are as easy as pie.

Is anything weird happening at SAW?!
Looked at avios bookings for Easter ’26, and they end on 29 March. Annoying
(and a bit odd as it’s summery) but it happens with BA.

However, tried Pegasus, and they have flights in March and May
but the whole of April is blacked out. And Skyscanner is only showing flights via Doha!

Right, I need recommendations for noise cancelling headphones asap. I don’t care how much they cost as long as they block out *everything*. Just endured one of the nosiest flights ever, sat on a row with someone repeatedly playing games aloud from their phone despite my asking them to turn it down twice and asking the crew to do same, (didn’t happen). That added to general shouting over rows at friends/family, banging of empty plastic bottles, screaming crotch goblins etc. I find train travel with endless automated PA’s at 1000d & everyone on speakerphone/playing endless content unbearable. Modern life is just too loud & people too inconsiderate so I give in. I need specialist headphones and ones that will still block out noise even if I am not playing anything through them. Hit me with what you know please. Thank you.

You’ll struggle to find something that blocks out everything, but I use these (mine are in a fetching powder blue colour) –
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bose-QuietComfort-Cancelling-Headphones-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B0CXJBH48R

They are my plane/train headphones, and I find them very effective!

Anker has a range of in-ear, over-ear and around-ear most of which get good feedback and excellent price-performance (reviews on their site and on Amazons various country Amazons – make sure you use .com too to see reviews.) If you can wait for a sale or special offers (sign up) they are regular. Prices in sales and other offers are always the same on anker and on amazon. So you can use amy amazon credit you are able to generate eg I got rid of my final Miles&More miles onto amazon.de giftcards when I finally got fed up with the LH program and dumped it.
    .
Other than that the Sony 5xxx or something similar, still get great reviews. Latest or most expensive is not always best performance.

Still can’t justify replacing either my in ear or on ear Bose ones but hoping for an excuse I’ve been watching as above.

    Sony XM4 are good.

Sony XM4, XM5 or anything in the Bose Quietcomfort range. The Sonys pop up on Amazon at quite a discount from time to time.

many reviews point to the sonys as having some of the best active noise cancellation, I have the wf-100xm5 which are the earbuds because i travel light, but the big over ear headphones wh-1000xm5 are worth looking into if you are mainly concerned with good noise cancellation

12 midnight local time i.e. 1am BST / 12 midnight Rome if flying from Rome. I’ve done it several times. Try a dummy booking before to check availability.

Sony’s are good, but when I want to block out “everything” I use custom made in-ear monitors. What I have might be overkill (wired, triple driver upgraded design) but for fairly reasonable money you can get companies that make custom ear tips that will attach to many common brand earphones.

They normally come with a voucher that you take to your local hearing specialist for a free fitting (they put some goop in your ear to make an impression) and two or three weeks later you have the tips. Takes a day or two to get used to, but nothing can beat them. A quick search shows a company called Snugs, Sennheiser offer them as an option on theirs, and I’m sure there are a few more
