@aston100 – Are you willing to pay your ticket a lot more for that? You are paying for it in the end.
Also airlines are hardly the most profitable businesses.

Re UK261 , yes it needs updating.

Firstly any airline flying into or out of UK should be accountable under UK 261 for both inward and outbound flights, for whole journey. Yes the details for flights with multiple airlines will need to be sorted. However right of care and rebooking must be absolute. Perhaps the onus should be on airline that issues ticket

Compensation should be linked to what you pay. To avoid misunderstanding it should be linked to total amount passenger pays. It should never be more than what you’ve paid. It’s daft you can get 300% or more of what you paid

Compensation as a % of fare should also be linked to length of delay,

I think IAG, Ryan Air and Easyjet would all like a word.
These are airlines (airline groups) that I use more than others.
I’m sure there are airlines that are not as profitable, but I don’t fly them so they are of no consequence to me or eu261.

It appears the political spin on the use of e-gates is akin to a Yes Prime Minister sketch.

Not before the new ETA is launched which is re-scheduled yet again for Oct 2025, and it’s up to each individual member state whether to allow it.

Not sure how this will fit with the upcoming fingerprinting of all 3rd country nationals. Will you go through the e-gate and before or after you’re standing in a queue for an hour to have you prints taken?
