October half-term availability 2025 to seasonal routes to many destinations in the med are still not bookable on BA (that I have booked to before).
I found one reference on a facebook page that BA seasonal summer routes end around when the clocks change – this years thats Sunday 26th October (which is the start of the half-term week). Also I read (same facebook page) that the schedule may sometimes be extended into the October half-term.
Is there any truth to this? I’ll happily fly easyjet but the prices are exorbitant and this would be a good use of avios burn down.
Summer route AYT-LGW is on sale for 2nd Nov. Avios availability around half term dates sells out very quickly.

There’s lots of chat over on Flyertalk, about the lack of Avios redemption availability. In particular someone posted this response they got from BA on X: (it seems to be an IT update that’s causing issues!)
So my woes continue. Having arrived at La Rochelle airport my flight is delayed by 3 hours currently ) .There is no later FlixBus ( to get me home to Wales )that I can book onto so I am essentially stranded in Bristol. Can I legitimately book a taxi from BRS to home and bill Ryanair as they were my initial carrier ? I am cheesed off beyond belief.
I think that’s for your travel insurance as airline liability would end if they’d got you to the correct destination airport.
Personally if not working Sunday I’d stay overnight at Bristol at my own cost or insurance cost if covered then travel in daylight by same funding on normal public transport home. If you’re not due as a surgeon in the operating theatre at 6am tomorrow Sunday then a taxi all that way does sound a bit…sorry… well a bit of a reaction to events and I’m not sure even my insurance company would wear it.
@Lady London – I am unfortunately working tomorrow (as I was supposed to be yesterday and today ) starting my 12 hour shift at 7am. I’ve got as far as Cardiff and currently waiting for another connection to take me onwards and eventually a taxi as I live in a small rural village.
I’ve missed two days of work which I’ll either have to take as annual leave or unpaid leave which I’m sure Ryanair won’t choose to compensate me for either. Luckily my super colleague covered for me at very short notice.
