Daughter booked United direct EDI – Washington a few days ago, return in early September. Return flight now cancelled and suggested re-route is two flights via Newark.
How much leeway will United allow for a date change?
She only booked a “throw away” September return since it was much cheaper than a one-way. But might have a use for a December flight.
She can ask
No UK261 for UA flights ex UA to UK so it’s basically down to UA policy and their goodwill.
One thing to bear in mind is if she’s using the visa waiver scheme to enter the US she’s limited to 90 days in the US and that might be a restriction UA may impose on the rebooking horizon.
ExpertFlyer has lost the ability to show blocked seats on BA. I can’t comment on other airlines, but blocked seats on BA are now showing as occupied.
I’ve looked at multiple flights a long way out, where all bassinets plus the last row of CE and the first three rows of ET which are all routinely blocked now show occupied, and a few flights where as Gold I can see via MMB that row 1 is not full despite ExpertFlyer claiming it is.
