Yes you can have one guest in any oneworld lounge.

Assuming you mean T3 at Heathrow? If so, then yes you can bring one guest with you. Strangely enough I actually prefer the CX business class lounge with its dedicated bar.

    Constructing a BA holiday

Is it possible to have a BA holiday with a reward flight (using a companion voucher) and the requisite number of car hire days? If so, will I be asked about adding car hire when I book my reward flight or is there some other way of doing it?

I wonder why you need this.

If you have a flight booked with avios it is great as you can cancel for £35pp.

You can book your car separately and cancel usually until 48hrs before.

That is much better and flexible than any BA holiday you may be able to construct.

And since it is an avios flight, no TPs so no point in using BAH for that benefit.

@davefl If the aircraft is loaded with an emphasis of weight towards the back it burns less fuel. All to do with the angle of flight during the cruise. This has led to a few near misses with regards tail tips, my lot have some strict deplaning procedures to stop this happening. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.

It’s bloody funny though. What’s the remedy for when it happens, get some fat blokes to climb up into the front and treat it like a giant see-saw? It’s the Italian Job end sequence with Michael Caine saying listen up, I have an idea.

@davefl It’s not that complicated really, unload aft bags first and if deplaning only from the front door keep about half a dozen people in the forward galley area at all times until most people are off. It’s a great big seesaw.

Posted this on the MAN lounge article as well – some pics of the interior of the new lounge area.

Thank you. Mainly because we have found BA’s airport pick up and drop back car hire surprisingly good value in the US mid west with a free upgrade almost guaranteed. It may be that you or others have suggestions for good value US car hire including insurance as no Amex platinum any longer

@GibsonJ I use Avis (if you sign up for free you tend to get good prices on their UK website) and compare vs Expedia (really like them as you can cancel up to 6hrs before pickup).

Sometimes as you get closer to the day prices go down so it is worth rechecking, cancelling and rebooking.

That plus a good excess insurance (£50 per year) give you good protection.

@Strickers I meant how do they get it back down now without it going smash on the nose wheel

Thank you – that’s interesting as months out Avis direct is considerably more expensive than as part of a BA holiday.

@davefl Ah, very slowly, honestly I don’t know! The nose wheel can take a bit of punishment though, I speak from experience!
