The 30,000 requisite points to retain Gold Sparrow are priced at around $1,000.
However the final bullet point in the T&C’s tells you that purchased miles do not count towards status.
Pity, that would have been some deal 🙄Weird – what point would there be to purchasing Tier Miles if they don’t count towards status – isn’t that their sole purpose? 🤷♂️
@bungalow – thanks for taking a look. Forgive me for asking, but was that definitely on the Elite Miles purchase page when you are logged into your RJ Club account? Those numbers look like they’re those on the Buy Miles page where you can see the price per mile without logging in i.e. not qualifying miles
Yes you are right, buying award miles & buying tier miles are separate things.
At $100 per 1000 tier miles, this only makes sense if you need to top up a few thousand…
Has anyone used the avios hotels offer – had it on BAPP. 5 avios for every £1 – am i missing a catch here?
