This is today’s chat thread.
If you have specific questions about Avios, hotels or credit cards, please ask them in the appropriate forum and not here. This thread is a good place to post interesting deals you have spotted or your general thoughts on travel and all things miles and points. Thank you for contributing.
Has anybody tried using the Qatar stopover on a reward booking? Looks like I can book it and all I need is a booking reference and a boarding pass which I have both.
I looked at it, didn’t fancy any of the hotels at the basic level and booked the Embassy Suites for cash instead. The price difference was £5-10. AA redemption and I was only in Dohar for about 10 hours overnight.
Morning all
I’ve hit the 15k spend on my BAPP (Renews Feb 26). If I downgrade to the free card do a) still keep the voucher and b) still maintain the Feb 26 renewal date.
I would obviously get a pro rata refund and divert my spending onto my Barclays.

Once the Voucher is banked it’s safe, I have never bothered with all that downgrading lark, I have fairly high spending through my BAPP, so suits me to keep it for the 1.5 Avios! Simplicity is key.
Can’t give you an answer re renewal date, but I’d hazard a guess it will stay the same.
Good morning from the No. 1 Lounge in Heathrow T2. It was nice of them to put it so close to the bus gates. No hot breakfast (discounting porridge) but they did do a mean bacon and cheese croissant.
The ibis London Heathrow was fine, but of course they were clueless about my successful Best Price Guarantee that was supposed to be refunded at check out. Time to go in for round 2 with Accor customer services.
@gerjomarty Good luck with Accor CS – prepare yourself for the email equivalent of a Gallic shrug ! 🤷♂️
This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping would exist, are you able to link up the policy?
I believe it’s this one: https://www.britishairways.com/travel-partner-connect/policies/self-service/standard-customer-guidelines/schedule-changes<br fgid=”28759″>
That’s what I got from FT and quoted to agent before.<br fgid=”28766″>
I think you need the joint business section
Agents again told me nothing I can do apart from ask for a refund. Asked on FT and the concensus seems to be QR are tw*ts with redemptions and I have to suck it up. Very very annoying
KLM has a discount code for european flights KLMUK50EUR.
Not sure if KLMUK50GBP works.
The small print is on their website.

At the risk of starting a very controversial chain of conversation…
Bacon is a wonderful thing.
Cheese is a wonderful thing.
But together? No, no, no. It just doesn’t work.
Cheese can work wonderfully with several types of ham, but not with bacon.

While the code ends in EUR I think thats more to do with it being flights to Europe than currency as the small print does say the code gives a £50 discount not 50 euros
