Just got an email with a unique voucher code to save 15% on Business Class flights, valid for booking until 29th April 2025.
T&Cs indicate that the voucher code is unique to my account. I am not planning to use it, but won’t share it either, don’t want to run the risk of having my account shut down.
Not sure if this is targeted or for everyone; if you do have a business class flight coming up, worth checking your inbox to see if you’ve missed the email! Or call up to enquire.
To give some context:
– I used to travel loads of business up until Mar24, getting Gold status. But have since stopped, as personal / new work doesn’t require any business travel on BA. So maybe that’s why I’m getting this offer.
I also used to travel a lot on BA… and still do. I have a number of bookings coming up and have not received an email. It looks like BA is trying to tempt back those people they believe may be playing away.
I got the same email yesterday. Valid for flights between 1 July and 31 March 26. Minimum spend £300 including taxes etc; departing UK; and CW. I’m not sure where you’d actually be able to fly to in CW for £300 from the UK!
I usually have lots of bookings by this time of year, but at the moment have only 2 paid and 2 Avios bookings.
Expect a lot more of these to follow, especially to the US!
Also got this yesterday. Have made a few European economy bookings recently instead of the usual Club Europe I would have used.
Interestingly, playing around with a NY booking I’m contemplating for later in the year, the 15% comes off the total price, not just the base fare before taxes and fees.
Not sure if targeted….but had the email, I’ve had past and upcoming J flights and upcoming booked F flights. Not interested in booking further J flight unless your talking decent discounts 🙂
Got the same and travelling more often ET than anything else
A friend of mine just received this, and their BA spend had also dropped off a cliff due to the tier point system changes. Previously travelling with work most weeks with BA exclusively, now significantly diversified to other airlines.
He also wrote to BA back in Feb to inform them of this, including sharing a raft of tickets purchased on other airlines – and received a credit to spend on BA in reply.
They do seem to be backpeddling to try and win back some of the spending they have lost.
I don’t think they are backpedalling. This was in their plan. They wanted to kill off most people, so they basically stopped the Executive Club or whatever it’s called now. They made a pretence of rewarding some people still, in the way they nerfed The Club but basicslly those people – corporate travellers – are already comforted enough by BA alresdy. Via the deals made with their employers, not really choosing which airline themselves in most cases, and often lucky enough to travel in classes other than Y or Y-, anyway.
BA did indeed mumble that they would run promotions after they’d nerfed the Exec Club. I thought this was extremely arrogant. As someone who’s behaved in a way that damages our former good terms doesn’t usually get my attention. But I forgot of course that so many loyslty programs of various types are now exiting Round #1 of loyalty, grabbing all the micro-data thry’ve collected, restrategising and basically withdrawing the Round #1 program.
So leveraging the micro-data, if they’ve learned to analyse it, is going to give us Round #2 loyslty programs snd individually let us know what they’ve learned by (perhaps iteratively) targeting us.
I can’t wait to see the Round #2 loyalty programs that are emerging and not just the airlines. But meanwhile I’m a bit busy restrategising myself and thinking thete’s a reasonable chance world events may bvggvr up anyone’s stattegy. So BA hasn’t got my focus. It eould tske a lot to get stuff from them out of my mental and digital spsm trsys.
Hum. Rotten typing. *It would take a lot to get stuff from them out of my mental and digital spam trays.
My first thought upon seeing a ba discount voucher was an immediate ‘lol, no’. I think BA have radisonned themselves for my future bookings.
