Forums Payment cards Other payment cards Clarification on Curve with CoT

I’m a little confused, so would appreciate someone telling me if I have misunderstood.

Currently I have Curve Metal, and have only personal cards linked to it. If I wanted to link my CoT, I would then be transferred to a commercial Curve Metal account. This doesn’t make much difference – I could still use my personal cards through it – but I would be charged a 1.5% fee for anything over £1500pcm going through CoT.

    Is that correct?

If you have the commercial curve card. There is no limit (or charge) on the amount of spend you make to a commercial credit card. You still have a £3k fronted limit and standard daily/monthly/annual curve limits though.

Thanks. When does the 1.5% fee for using a commercial card come in in that case?

Don’t think it has a fee unless you do fronted transactions and go over the monthly allowance. The 1.5k monthly limit is for personal curve with corporate card

I thought if you attached CoT to a personal Curve they automatically transferred you to a Commercial Curve?

What’s the downside, if any, of having a Commercial Curve?

For starters they’ll be a small fee applied by HMRC when paying taxes with the commercial Curve card.

Ah yes – isn’t it actually worse than this, as HMRC don’t accept corporate debit cards at all?
