Forums Payment cards American Express Clarification please on Amex Platinum supp card travel insurance

  • 68 posts

    Hi
    Hoping someone can clarify.

Given son a supp card on my personal platinum card. He has booked a ski holiday but not yet taken insurance.

Reading the T&C certain parts state only valid if “purchased on the “ card account”.

I thought I had read that as long as purchased using any Amex card that you were covered. Have I misunderstood this? He purchased his holiday on his own Amex BA card.

    Thanks

I believe card account is defined as any amex you hold, hence the second word account. Rob has mentioned it a number of times and I think it is defined somewhere in the policy.

You will find this in the ‘definitions’ section of the policy.

“Account” or “Card Account” means Your consumer and small business cards issued by American Express the UK, excluding corporate cards and any American Express cards issued by bank partners.

“Card” means any Card or other Account access device issued to a Cardmember (or a Supplementary
Cardmember) for the purpose of accessing the Account
