Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Club World – best option for food

    Morning all

Travelling to NYC in a couple weeks with my 2 year old. As he’s over 2, I’ve had to book him his own seat. I’ve requested a child meal for him – has anyone ordered this in club with their child recently. Do they have options or is it a set one option meal – would it be suitable for a 2 year old, as assume child meal would cover anything up to 10-11yr old.

Thanks in advance for the guidance, just debating how much we stock up from the boots or the lounge sarnies to keep him happy for 7 hours.

    Cheers,

IME (not recent but can’t imagine it’s changed much) it’s been a combo of chicken nuggets, chocolate bar, Ribena box, grapes, yoghurt and maybe a couple of other things. There’s no choice though, so if in doubt bring snacks you know he’ll eat. Baby Bel cheeses and bananas came in very useful in the toddler days!

Are you in Club Suite and if so is he going to be ok with this?

This would be my first thought too. Obviously the entire take-off and landing processed you MUST both be seated in your own separate seats. You probably will not be able to reach/touch him at all if it is Club Suite (even if adjacent) and if you are a centre pair you would need to get up, walk round the entire length of the cabin, across the front/back connecting passage or galley, and back again to do so (which is clearly not possible or permissible on takeoff etc). Bear in mind that if you hit turbulence then both you and he need to be strapped in your individual seats for however long that lasts too.

A more expensive cabin is not necessarily a better one for everyone. For a relatively short flight are you sure that Premium Economy would not better suit your needs? Club Suite would not have been suitable for my children when they were that young.
