only £70 to spend by feb 2023 to get my 1st companion voucher!
hopefully plan to go to Caribbean or similar in 1st or 2nd Jan 2024 in Club World for my wife’s birthday using the companion ticket
a few questions
1. plan on booking a family of 6 european package holiday (non BA) prob will cost about £5k
2. thinking about cancelling the renewal of the BA PP card and going back to the Amex Cashback card, as I’m not sure how the companion CW experience of availability will work out? from some posts i have seen BA are making it less viable to pay for this card IMHO
3. what’s the likely hood of getting on the new BA Club seats? around that time of the yearany help would be appreciated!
Spend that £70 in the next 2 weeks so the voucher is in your account ready to book at t-355.
Amex give a pro-rata refund on the card fee, so there’s no immediate need to cancel before your card anniversary. Why not see how the redemption process goes? In fact the recent changes to the BAPP vouchers have added flexibility and potentially given access to more seats. (I’m unclear from your post if you are after 2 or 6 seats to the Caribbean. I’d be confident of 2, but bagging 6 redemption seats on the same flight will be luckier)
Club suites are gradually being rolled out so your chances are going up, but route is more important than time of year.Spend that £70 in the next 2 weeks so the voucher is in your account ready to book at t-355.

I’m looking to book the European holiday pretty soon, looking at my statement online pending payment will hit the voucher any day now.I take it the £10k spend reset at feb 23?
For clarification the Jan 24 holiday will be 4 in total, 2 in CW using 1 companion voucher and 2 in economy or premium probably just book those non avios?
I have around 366k avios
Thanks againT-355 means 355 days before the date you wish to travel. BA releases reward seats 355 days out so if its a popular destination you want to fly to you have to be prepared to book at midnight or 1am (depending on GMT or BST)
