Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Companion bonus from Credit Card question

  • 25 posts

    hi,

if I spend £10k on the Virgin Credit Card and get the companion flight award, do you know if I can then use Virgin points to upgrade the class of the seat on that flight for both me and the companion please?

AND I wonder if I can purchase my seat with points for this flight please, or is there a rule for companions that it must be a cash flight purchase?

You can upgrade with Points from any fare class aside from Economy Light, subject to availability. To get in to Premium, you need P availability and to Upper, you need G availability. Taxes are due in cash. Around £250-£500 for P and £400-£600 for Upper, round trip.

There is no requirement to book a revenue seat to use a companion voucher. You will have to pay any taxes in cash.
