Has anyone noticed that the Melia app seems to have changed quite significantly, and it now seems that using part points is no longer possible. Also, if having the upgrade voucher for the birthday gift it seems to have been removed from the vouchers.

Yes unfortunately the vouchers now seem to remove when used whereas they used to very helpfully stay as valid to be reused numerous times… 🙂 good whilst it lasted
You can still use part points at the end of the booking process. Some properties seem to be more expensive than they were for the last couple of weeks. It looks very similar to the website, but I don’t think it’s user friendly. It is definitely more difficult to search using 20% vouchers now.
I noticed this yesterday when updating the app.
Please can someone post about where to find the 20% off vouchers – I can’t seem to find them
My unused birthday upgrade voucher, just a few months old, has also been removed.

If you go to the ‘my account’ page there are four pictures- top left is promotions, your code should be in there, valid for 3 uses.
Interestingly, I attempted to make a booking this morning to see how things are working and as soon as I clicked to go to pay, the app shut down.
I called up to ask about the birthday upgrade voucher (as mine has disappeared too), plus the part pay with points, and the app closure issue. The person I spoke to was very apologetic and advised that there has been a number of issues with their website/app upgrade which are being worked on including the issues mentioned. He did say my birthday upgrade voucher is on my account and should be usable when doing online check in though.
The app keeps closing for me as well when I try to go to pay. Android.
Can the normal non-Birthday vouchers be used during check in like the birthday voucher?
Looks like the permanent 5% discount for booking through the app has gone.
My word this app update is a downgrade, it might look prettier but the spacing is so needlessly large, it’s much harder to compare prices for different packages.
The app is the same as the website now. Same as easyJet
I also thought I noticed in the t&c’s in the new app that 20% off vouchers are not returned if a booking is cancelled. Has that always been there?

If it was in the T&Cs it certainly wasn’t what happened in actuality.

It is still there just not working on all properties, one of the hotels I am looking at is still working for the 5% off in the app. It is €714.22 on the website and €678.00 on the app. Also, this evening, I am able to get through to the payment page on the app, so hopefully that is the issues with the new app fixed.
This updated app is horrible.
Not intuitive. Also, I cant seem to find a way to select how many points to use. Seems to be all or nothing in my case.
Granted I’ve only got 9k points, but if this holds true for larger balances then it can’t be good at all!Anyway, it is reducing the total price by about £45 when all 9k points are applied.
Not sure if better or worse than before. Will assume worse, as my glass is currently half empty. This updated app is horrible.

Will assume worse, as my glass is currently half empty. That looks like it still needs updating, that amount is definitely worse, though may depend on the hotel. Some can be a £10 discount for 2k points and some can be vastly significantly higher for the discount.
