Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help Compensation through Aviation ADR

In April I had a booking for a flight from Lisbon to Manchester with Tap Portugal. 11 days before the flight, we got an email that our flight was cancelled. The airline only offered us to fly 11 hours earlier or the next day, we chose the later. After the flight I requested a compensation for the cancellation (through their website) and never got an answer. After two months I was looking for one of these companies that claims the money for you (charging a significant fee) but found Aviation ADR (https://www.aviationadr.eu/), that is completely free. I was a bit skeptic at the beginning that it would be useful at all. However I decided to fill a claim at the beginning of June. They accepted the claim on June 16th, on June 28th they communicated me that the airline accepted it and today I received the requested 800 euros! Amazing service, I strongly recommend you taking a look if something like this happens to you in the future. I have paid 25-30% fees in the past with intermediaries and it took way more time to be solved.

They are an Alternative Dispute Resolution service.

Think of them like an Ombudsman (e.g. FOS). Each airline has a different provider, e.g. BA uses CEDR.
