Hi
I did read the forum before asking a new topic but the knowledge gained is at odds with what I have just had back from the Ambassador email address.
I had assumed I was due points for both nights? Sent email querying this and this is the reply…
“I’d like to share that you will earn your base points and tier-level points from your paid night (1st night). Since your second night is complimentary using your Ambassador weekend night certificate no points will be accumulated.”
Is this correct?
Yes, you only get points for the amount of money you actually spend. The 2nd night counts as a night credit for status, etc, however, which is where the confusion may have arisen.
I haven’t seen anything contradicting this on this site though.
When you book the app incorrectly shows the points for both nights (and cash rate). After a few days or couple of weeks depending on the property, the rate for the second night will adjust to zero. I suspect this is where the confusion comes from.
That is true, I’ve got used to ignoring that!
I recently had an issue where no Elite Nights or Points credited for the Ambassador Voucher. The hotel had incorrectly coded it as a Non-Qualifying Stay/Rate. A quick email to the Ambassador Customer Service and things were corrected within 24 hours.
