I just got told this too.
I’m wondering if people in this thread have definitely had points credited to their IHG accounts, or whether they’ve only been told that it will happen and they got a bit excited before the fact?
I’ve had all my points and free night for the Black card, but I’m being told the same nonsense for the points owed on the white card. I’m batting it back to FOS now.
My comment got stuck in moderation limbo because of a bad word, but I’ve also received my points. They were transferred by Creation while the FOS was calling them, and showed up on my IHG account the next day.
I got points as well. They were transferred while the FOS were on a call with Creation (can’t make this shit up) and showed up on my IHG account next day.
Annual free night from the now defunct card has appeared in my account, nothing for Mrs S yet.
On the plus side, the expiry date correlates with when the free night posts, so the longer you’re waiting, the more validity you’ll get!
There is that, just hope I don’t have to chase it up. Used mine for the IC Boston which was showing 90k points a night.
I just booked Kimpton Seafire with mine, but I did actually use one at the IC BOS last year. We were offered an upgrade to an absolutely colossal 1 bedroom corner suite for $160 pn which was a bargain as the actual suite was selling for $1k pn and we were there for 3 nights (with the teenager, who was a last minute addition due to grandparents getting covid)!
I’ll message them a week or so before. We have 4 nights there, 3 nights on my account, Diamond Ambassador and the last night using Mrs S’s certificate from last year as a lowly Plat. Flight home is at 0715 so not too worried if they make us move for the last night.
We got that flight, too – security doesn’t open till 4.30 am so don’t bother getting there early!

I think it was about 15 mins in a taxi. We stayed at the BOS Hilton the night before for that bit of extra sleep! Yes you should get priority check-in, have you got checked bags then? We were HBO, thankfully, as on our LHR-MAN connection later that evening, no baggage was loaded! But a much better experience than the overnight flight.
Yes, we will have bags. Away for 26 days!! Vancouver, Alaska cruise, road trip to Calgary via Banff, Jasper etc. Then fly to Toronto for one night, night at Niagara, three more nights in Toronto. Hopefully do global entry enrolment on arrival when we clear US immigration in Toronto and finishing with the 4 nights in Boston. Will need a holiday when we get back to rest.
Sounds amazing! Lol, we have just done 8 days away with just hand baggage, my friends are aghast.
I have my missing free night at last. And most of my missing points – they’ve oddly chopped off about 200, but I’ll let those slide.

Any updates on those told to contact IHG for the missing points and free night voucher? I’m getting nowhere with IHG
8 weeks ago creation told me that IHG would credit my points and free night within 6 weeks and so far nothing has appeared. I queried this with Creation whose response was that they advised IHG within the 6 weeks and that I should chase this with IHG.
I have chased this with IHG who won’t do anything at all until I tell them what my card anniversary date is. I have since contacted Creation again to ask what this date is.
It’s quite pathetic really.
Im interested on people’s thoughts on how much this debacle has cost Creation?
A quick look here shows that 258 new Creation FOS cases were opened in Q3-4 2022 (more than double the previous data). Also interestingly, only 6 cases were resolved…
On FOS fees alone, this is almost £200,000. Plus costs of points, admin costs of handling etc, this whole episode must have cost them well in to the 7 figures I feel.The longer run of Creation cases taken to the FOS is:
2020 H1 149
2020 H2 156
2021 H1 143
2021 H2 119
2022 H1 258
2022 H2 144which seems to show that there aren’t nearly as many cases re closures and points/free night certs vs all the noise. Most of these cases won’t ultimately feature in the resolved/upheld data as they were settled by agreement rather than by an Ombudsman decision. The regular cases mainly revolve around s75 and irresponsible lending.
The cost won’t be anything like £200k as they have a season ticket arrangement for multiple complaints on a single theme. Additionally, Creation saved over £1m in points etc in the year after jettisoning dodgy cardholders.

UPDATE: exact same issue re: over 8 weeks since creation promised free night voucher and outstanding points. Creation advised to discuss with IHG.
Emailed an LBA giving Creation 14 days to sort out as IHG have no idea what I was asking. 5 days later Creation came back to me saying have now passed on information to IHG re: voucher and points. 3 days later free night voucher and points have finally reached my account.
I can now sleep easier!
Won’t be long now, before Creation do the right thing and refund everyone their pro rata card fee and issue reward night vouchers to all their ex card holders, whether they’ve filed a complaint to FOS or not.

My points and free night have now arrived, very strange timing, but a relief at last.
All missing points after my complaint have just been deposited too.
Finally had everything owing to me too now.

I’m just sad that the opportunity to earn the free night is gone. It’s great to be able book a room that would normally cost £800+ for free.
